John McMahon

John McMahon joined Iowa’s News Now team in November 2022 as a morning anchor. He is originally from Pembroke, Massachusetts, but has gradually traveled west (and back) over his career.

John is no stranger to waking up early! Before Iowa’s News Now, he spent two years in Medford, Oregon as a morning anchor and reporter with KTVL. While there, he covered everything from contentious statewide measures and wildfires, to county fairs and local superheroes.

John is a graduate of Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut where he graduated (albeit via zoom due to the pandemic) in 2020 with a double major in journalism and communications. While at Quinnipiac, he was involved in student media, ran cross country, and interned at CBS Sports HQ.
