IOWA CITY, Iowa — Iowa football's first Big Ten football game of the 2023 season will be broadcast on CBS2 this year, the football team revealed Monday.
The game on the road against Penn State will air at 7 p.m. on September 23.
This upcoming season will be the first season of the new TV deal between the Big Ten and CBS. The Big Ten is also media partners with Fox and NBC.
The $7 billion deal starts this summer and runs through 2029-30 season. It will be the first time in several years no regular season Big Ten games will be broadcast on ESPN.
So far, it is the only Iowa football game that has a TV channel assigned to it. The rest, are labeled TBD on the Hawkeye Sports website.
UI Athletics says the start times for the first three games and homecoming will be announced later this spring and the rest of the games will be announced six or 12 days before each contest.
