QB Jacob Park to transfer from Iowa State

The redshirt junior started four games in 2017.

In an interview with the Des Moines Register Monday night, Cyclones quarterback Jacob Park said that he plans to transfer from Iowa State. The redshirt junior started four games for the Cyclones in 2017 before taking a leave of absence prior to Iowa State's game at Oklahoma on October 7. In the interview, Park also revealed the leave of absence was preceded by a failed drug test for marijuana, for which he would have served a one-game suspension had he not taken the leave.

Park also told the Register he felt Iowa State's fan-base "turned on [him]" after his leave of absence.

Head coach Matt Campbell said in a statement Monday night that he and his staff "had a plan in place to help" Park and that the program will support him in his transfer.

This will be the fourth transfer of Park's college tenure.
