AMES, Iowa – Grundy Center freshman Judd Jirovsky breaks the Iowa state golf tournament record for most strokes under par after 36 holes shooting 131, good for 11 under par Tuesday.

Jirovsky made headlines on Monday after shooting an incredible 63, and then backed it up by shooting a 68 the following day, birdieing three of the last four holes including an impressive distance putt on the 18th green. He broke the state record by four strokes and won the class 2A individual medal by a margin of 11 strokes.

Jirovsky's amazing skill on the golf course also helped lead Grundy Center to win the class 2A team state title.

Eastern Iowa saw individual champions in the other class divisions, with Cedar Rapids Kennedy's Reid Hall winning the class 4A medal, Washington's Roman Roth winning the class 3A medal, and Regina's Mikey Takacs winning the class 1A medal.
