WWII-era hand grenade safely removed from Marion home
MARION, Iowa (CBS2/FOX28) —
A World War II-era hand grenade was removed from a home in Marion Thursday evening, according to police.
The Marion/Linn County Bomb Squad was called out to 24th St., after the homeowner found the grenade while cleaning.
Investigators said they don't know if it was still functional but it was safely removed.
No one was hurt during the incident and officers said there aren't any criminal charges associated with this case.
