"Whiteout" planned at Carver on Saturday for ex-Hawk Kenny Arnold

Carver-Hawkeye Arena is typically at its best when crowds are dressed in black and gold.

Saturday, the hope is to see as much white shirts as possible.

Teammates of Kenny Arnold, who led the 1980 Iowa men's basketball Final Four squad in scoring, have organized a "whiteout" for Saturday's game between Iowa and Illinois (1:00 p.m., BTN) in Iowa City.

Arnold was diagnosed with cancer in 1985 - and given slim odds for survival. 32 years later, he continues to live, fight, and inspire. A GoFundMe page has been created to offer further support.

Special "Arnold 30" t-shirts are still available for purchase:

- Hawkeye Fan Shop (1525 2nd Street, Coralville)

- Hawkeye Fan Shop (201 S. Clinton Street, Iowa City)

- Black and Gold (1000 25th Ave, Coralville)

- Inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena
