CBS2/FOX28 Staff — Vice President Mike Pence arrived in Cedar Rapids ahead of a tour of Rockwell Collins, along with a private event with Rep. Rod Blum.
Dozens gathered to await Pence's visit, and after meeting the Vice President, those guests received a special surprise.
"Another great opportunity was we got to go aboard Air Force Two, which was beautiful," said Zach Ralston moments after touring the modified Boeing 757. "I was very shocked and so were the people next to me. It was a very awesome opportunity. Didn't think they were gonna let us go on the plane even though that was the one thing I said I wanted to do."
Rachel Kemp was also in attendance, and described the plane as your average, everyday airplane, with a slight difference.
"It had a special room for the vice president," said Kemp with a smile, "and the rest of it just looked like a plane."
Secret service did not allow pictures or videos inside of Air Force Two, but those who walked through said the memories they have will last forever.
