Victim of deadly Iowa City car fire identified

IOWA CITY, Iowa (CBS2/FOX28) — Iowa City Police have identified the man found dead inside a burning car on Monday.

First responders were called to a report of an occupied car on fire in the parking lot of 1213 Gilbert Court around 10:49 p.m. on Monday.

Firefighters put out the fire and found 72-year-old Donald Schrader of Iowa City dead inside.

Fire investigators do not believe the fire was suspicious, nor do they believe a crime committed. They also determined the fire originated in the passenger compartment area.
