Two people are recovering after a shooting in Iowa City that triggered a campus Hawk Alert.

A Hawk Alert sent by University of Iowa Police at 2:06 a.m. Saturday said that two people were shot by an unknown near the intersection of Gilbert Street and Court Street. Their injuries are non-life-threatening.

The univesity's website says campus status has returned to normal, but asks people to avoid the area.

Anyone who knows something about the shooting is asked to call Iowa City Police at 319-356-5275.
