Two in custody after shooting in NE Cedar Rapids
Two people are charged after a shooting that left an apartment building damaged.
The Cedar Rapids Police Department says they dispatched to the 2000 block of North Towne Court NE, Cambridge Apartments, for the report of shots fired in an apartment unit at 9:29 a.m. Monday morning. When officers arrived, they found that a window was damaged during what they believe was an exchange of gunfire. CRPD's Special Response Team searched the building and took two suspects into custody.
18-year-old Taruis Robinson was charged with carrying weapons, trespassing and criminal mischief. 19-year-old Terrell Gray Jr. was charged with trespassing and providing false information. He also had a warrant out for him on unrelated theft charges.
