Teen seriously injured after crash in Linn County Thursday night
LINN COUNTY, Iowa —
A 16-year-old was taken to Mercy Hospital Thursday night with serious injuries after a crash in Coggon. Emergency crews were called to the 5600 block of Pering Ridge Rd. at about 6:26 pm for a personal injury accident.
The Linn County Sheriff's Office says 57-year-old Dan Strum of Coggon failed to yield when turning into a residence and the teen, in another vehicle, struck Strum. The teen was not wearing his seat belt and was cited by deputies. Strum was wearing his seat belt and was not injured. Strum was cited for an unsafe turn.
The accident remains under investigation.
