Suspicious southwest Cedar Rapids death ruled a homicide

A suspicious death discovered over the weekend is being considered a homicide.

Cedar Rapids Police say 18-year-old AnnaElise Edgeton died of a gunshot wound.

Edgeton was found dead inside her apartment on Saturday morning at 316 Jacolyn Drive SW. Police were sent to check on her after she didn't show up to work.

It is the first homicide in Cedar Rapids in 2018.

Police are not publicly identifying any suspects.
