Strong to severe thunderstorms possible Thursday afternoon
The atmosphere is destabilizing and thunderstorms will redevelop this afternoon. Some storms could be strong with all modes of severe weather possible -- strong winds, large hail, localized flooding and isolated tornadoes.
The ingredients are in place for strong to severe storms between 4 to 10 pm today. The greater chances will be where there's been more sunshine and warmer temperatures this afternoon. This is where discrete storms will form -- the ones most likely to rotate and produce severe weather, including tornadoes.
Storms could produce damaging winds and large hail. Additionally, with the high moisture values in place, there will be the potential for localized flooding with heavy rain.
