Winter storm to end the week in eastern Iowa

Moderate to heavy snow expected through the end of the week

Confidence continues to increase in regard to the anticipated winter storm this weekend. The National Weather Service has covered much of eastern Iowa in Winter Storm Warning and Winter Weather Advisories ahead of the snow which is expected to start Thursday evening.

Several inches of snow will be likely as we head into the end of the week with multiple rounds of powdery snow Thursday through Saturday.

  • Heavier snow begins after 6 pm
  • Moderate to heavy snow possible through the night

  • Snow continues through the morning
  • Break late in the evening
  • Higher snowfall totals Thursday-Friday likely near and north of I-80

  • Snow showers beginning in the morning
  • Primarily south of Highway 20

Snow will wind down late Saturday night with a small chance of some light snow south of I-80 on Sunday. The one question that still remains is exactly where the heaviest snow falls. However, several inches of snow will be likely with 4 to 8" of snow possible by the time it's all said and done.
