Several vehicles were involved in a series of crashes in Johnson County on I-380 Wednesday afternoon.

It all happened in between the I-80/I-380 interchange and Forevergreen Road around 1:39 p.m.

At least seven vehicles collided between the 2.5 mile marker and 5 mile marker in the southbound lanes. In the northbound lanes, one vehicle rolled over. That crash was unrelated to the crashes in the southbound lanes.

The southbound lanes of the interstate were closed temporarily, but have since reopened.

At least one person was taken to the hospital as a result of the collisions. A semi and a dump truck at the scene are being towed overnight, which will result in a lane closure.
