On June 21, 2018, the longest day of the year and summer solstice, thousands of people will join together to show their love for those affected by Alzheimer's disease. The Views of Cedar Rapids will be part of this effort and will be hosting a wide array of events to raise big bucks in support of the Alzheimer's Association from 5:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

The events will kick off with a Walk-a-Thon inside at The Views of Cedar Rapids MeadowView Memory Care walking track located at 3005 F Ave NW. Visitors can sign up to walk in 15-minute increments between 5:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. for $5.00. Then guests can enjoy a classic car show, cookout, and live music in the parking lot outside from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The cost to eat at the cookout is also $5.00. All proceeds will go the The Alzheimer's Association of East Central Iowa.

"Our goal is to raise awareness for a population that we are so strongly connected to," said Danielle Helgerson, community relations director for The Views Senior Living. "Our residents mean the world to us and deserve to be advocated for in the hope of continuing research to find a cure. It all starts with us!"
