With thousands of candidate and billions of dollars stakes on the midterm elections this year, a lot is on the line and a lot of people will want to see who the big winners are Tuesday night. John Dickerson, Co-Host of CBS This Morning, has followed politics for decades. Even he, with all his knowledge, is not sure what we'll see. "One of the great things about election night is we have no idea what's going to happen and we'll just have to wait for the voters to speak." Dickerson told CBS2/FOX28 Political Reporter Nick Weig.
Most polls show Democrats with a clear path to take control of the U.S. House. But Dickerson says there are factors at play that provide Republicans hope to maintain control of both branches of government. Dickerson says beyond President Trump's base, the uncertainly lies with moderates and independents who chose Trump over Hillary Clinton in 2016. Dickerson also says new economic figures showing a strong economy play to Republicans' favor.
But, in the end, it's all up to the voters, the turnout and the final tally. Stay with CBS2/FOX28 for complete election night coverage Tuesday night.
