CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Iowa's News Now) — The lights are out for some in eastern Iowa this morning following a powerful winter storm.
Additional power outages are possible following ice accumulation Wednesday and strong winds Thursday.
With 0.25 to 0.40" of ice accumulation in areas north of Highway 30, there's likely build up on trees and powerlines. Strong winds will put stress on powerlines and trees and could lead to sporadic power outages.
