CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Iowa's News Now) — It's been four days. Many people in eastern Iowa are still in the dark.
Utility crews have been working to restore power, but it will take a while. ITC Midwest estimates over 1,200 miles of power lines were damaged in the storm.
There has been slow, but steady progress in restoring the power to the state of Iowa after Monday's derecho.

Alliant Energy estimates the city of Cedar Rapids will see power restored in 5 to 7 days.
