NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa (CBS2/FOX28) -- UPDATE: The water advisory has been lifted.
Some parts of North Liberty are under a boil advisory after a water main break in town.
The advisory is in effect for water customers in the area of West Cherry Court, the south side of Cherry Street between Ranshaw Way (Highway 965) and Stewart Street, and along Circle Drive.
Due to the potential for bacterial contamination, it is being recommended that the water be boiled before using for drinking or cooking or that an alternative source be used.
For more information, please contact Greg Metternich, water superintendent, at (319) 626-5700. General guidelines on ways to lessen the risk of infection by microbes are available from the EPA Safe Drinking Water Hotline at 1(800) 426-4791.
