New fitness park in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Iowa's News Now) — A new outdoor fitness park has opened this week sponsored by AARP. The park opened on June first and is located on the east side of Jones Park near the playground. AARP is working with FitLot to find the resources they need to build the outdoor fitness parks. Each park includes FitLotTM exercise equipment, which can be adapted to meet a wide range of fitness levels and abilities.

AARP plans to sponsor a fitness park in every state, already opening 20 of them, and worked with the Cedar Rapids Park and Recreation Department to get the AARP sponsored fitness park. There is a celebration event planted for October 1st, 2020.
