Marion residents react to homicide investigation

Marion police monitors Gregory Davis' home

On Tuesday, Marion Police sat outside of Gregory Davis' vacant home which he shared with the female victim.

A criminal complaint says Davis admitted to stabbing and killing the female four to five days before police found the body.

The victim's body was found in a rental home that belonged to Davis' parents on Hillview Drive in Marion. The two lived together in a different home in southwest Marion.

CBS2/FOX28 News spoke with a neighbor named Chad Fransen that lived near them. He's lived in the neighborhood for a number of years and is shocked.

"Which in this neighborhood you wouldn't believe it happened at mostly homeowner and stuff but people are people and you get enough people together and eventually something is going to happen," said Fransen.

Davis is charged with first-degree murder and is in the Linn County Jail.
