Man arrested after armed robbery in SW Cedar Rapids Target parking lot

A man was arrested after forcing someone to withdraw cash from an ATM in southwest Cedar Rapids on Tuesday.

Police say the robbery happened at Target parking lot at 3400 Edgewood Road SW around 12:33 p.m. A 19-year-old man was sitting in his pickup when 31-year-old Quincy Franklin approached his vehicle. He then allegedly showed the victim what appeared to be a handgun and told him to withdraw cash.

Police say Franklin followed the victim into the store where he withdrew cash. The victim was not hurt.

Franklin was identified in video surveillance and was arrested at the Aspen Inn in Cedar Rapids Wednesday morning.

Franklin is charged with first-degree robbery.
