Update: Police release name of person killed in Cocktails & Company shooting
MARION, Iowa (IOWA'S NEWS NOW) — UPDATE: Marion police say 32-year-old Cameron Barnes was shot and killed at that incident at Cocktails & Company late Friday night.
Authorities say that just after 11 p.m., they responded to a report of gunshots at the bar. Several law enforcement agencies and ambulances responded to the scene.
Officials said that Barnes was shot inside the bar, and later died from his injuries at a nearby hospital.
No arrests have been made in connection to the shooting and the investigation is ongoing.
Witnesses tell us a fight led to a shooting at Cocktails & Company in Marion late Friday night. It happened shortly before midnight. Our crew on the scene found a large police presence outside. Later, witnesses reached out to tell us what they saw. One witness described a man being body slammed on the floor during a fight., while the security at the bar was dealing with that, another fight broke out between the bar and pool table area.
During that fight, a witness says a pool stick was broken in half, then, a person was shot. "I was frozen in disbelief that what was happening was happening and I was stuck there, frozen." One witness recalled.
