Linn County law enforcement searching for driver after chase
LINN COUNTY, Iowa —
Linn County authorities are searching for a driver who got away during a pursuit near Toddville Friday afternoon.
Authorities said they were asked by the Jones County Sheriff's Office to stop a 2003 white BMW, that was leaving Jones County and headed for Linn County just after noon.
The BMW was located on County Home Road at Alburnett Road, but did not pull over. The driver then sped off, reaching speeds that were deemed unsafe for surrounding traffic.
Investigators said they lost sight of the car but it was later found unoccupied behind a building in the 3100 block of Norman Drive.
The area was searched and investigators were unable to locate the suspect.
According to the Linn County Sheriff's Office, the license plates on the car were stolen out of Cedar Rapids.
