Light snow moves in Thursday night
First comes the cold air, then comes the snow. An early winter system is coming through the Midwest and will bring some light snow to eastern Iowa. Most of the snow will occur overnight Thursday into early Friday morning.
Snow will be light through the night and will lead to some minor accumulations. Most roads and sidewalks will likely be too warm for much accumulation. However, some accumulation will be possible on grass, overpasses, and bridges. If snow is persistent enough there may be some slick spots on untreated roads.
Snow will wind down around 7 am Friday, then there will be another chance for some light, scattered snow showers in the afternoon. Behind the snow very cold air moves in and temperatures will drop down into the teens by Saturday morning.
