The Iowa Caucuses will go on as planned on Monday in Iowa, despite the forecasted snowy conditions.

Three to six inches of snow is expected to fall across eastern Iowa throughout Monday, causing deteriorating road conditions.

The Republican Party of Iowa and the Iowa Democratic Party of Iowa released the following joint statement:

"The Iowa Caucuses will continue as planned this evening. We recognize the hardship that today's weather could cause for some caucus-goers to get to their caucus site this evening. However, after reviewing Iowa Code and our respective constitutions, there is no provision for us to postpone the caucuses due to weather.
"We urge everyone to use caution and common-sense when heading out this evening. Take it slow, allow plenty of time, and take care while on the roads. If any caucus-goers have questions or concerns, they should check the Republican Party of Iowa website or call 515-282-8105 or the Iowa Democratic Party website or call 515-244-7292."

Two Linn County Democratic Caucus locations are changing because they are being held at schools that are closing due to the weather.

Oak Ridge Middle School location is moving to Hiawatha Community Center (101 Emmons St.) That affects residents of northern Cedar Rapids, western Marion, Hiawatha and Robins. Specifically, the following precincts (mostly HD67, although 5 precincts include some residents who are in House District 95.)

Mt. Vernon High School location is moving to First Street Community Center (221 1st St NE, Mt Vernon.) That affects Mt. Vernon, Lisbon, Springville and surrounding areas, specifically these precincts (SE part of Linn Co. part of HD95):
