Hy-Vee and first responders to give away hams in Cedar Rapids
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Iowa's News Now) — Hy-Vee employees and local first responders will distribute 250 Hormel Cure 81 hams on Tuesday, April 12.
Beginning at 5 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Stadium, volunteers will distribute hams via drive through. In accordance with social distancing guidelines, hams will be loaded into cars through a contactless method.
The public is asked to enter the stadium parking lot from 15th Street SW. Vehicles will be directed to the Kernels lot and exit on to 8th Street SW. The event will continue until 7 p.m. or whenever all hams are distributed.
Hams for the Holidays is a collaborative effort with Hormel Foods to help provide hunger relief in communities. This location is just one of 19 that Hy-Vee will be making across 10 states.
