Several agencies responded to what appeared to be a multi-vehicle crash in Benton County, just south of Atkins.

An Iowa's News Now crew spotted several emergency vehicles on scene and the Iowa State Patrol.

Iowa DOT's 511 website said the westbound portion of the road was blocked and that it was causing a 2 minute delay. As off 5 p.m. only the shoulder was blocked.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office confirms a two vehicle crash on Highway 100, east of Banner Drive.

Deputies report a white GMC Acadia being driven by 34-year-old Jennifer Puetz, of Anamosa, was rear-ended by a Black Toyota Avalon, driven by 88-year-old Martha Ennis 88 of Marion.

Ennis’s vehicle came to rest in the right lane and Mrs. Puetz’s vehicle remained disabled in the left lane and blocking traffic.

Ennis was trapped in her vehicle for a shot period and suffered what's believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

Eastbound traffic was blocked for about half an hour while emergency crews worked to free Ennis from her vehicle and to clear the road of vehicles and debris.
