Heavy snow, slick travel through Monday evening

Snow moving across the state of Iowa Monday morning

A strong winter storm will continue to move through eastern Iowa. Heavy snow will be possible up until 5 pm, especially near and south of Highway 20. This will lead to reduced visibility and slick streets as snowfall rates increase and snow quickly accumulates.

The fluffy snow will add up quickly and may make it hard for snowplows to keep up with the roads in the late afternoon. There is the potential for snowfall rates of one inch an hour at times. The heaviest snow will set up near and south of Highway 20 into Monday evening.

Snow will wind down around 7 pm from northwest to southeast.
