Freeze Fest celebrates Blue Zones designation

IOWA CITY, Iowa (CBS2/FOX28) — Saturday marked a warm day by February standards.

It was time for Freeze Fest in Iowa City.

The event usually takes places during periods of snow and ice but it was still a lot of fun even during the warm and sun.

The big event generally has a lot of winter-themed activities such as bird watching, snowshoeing and ice fishing.

The event also served as an announcement that Iowa City is now a Blue Zones certified community.
