CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Free frozen boneless chicken breast fillets will be available on Saturday, thanks to a partnership between The Salvation Army in Cedar Rapids and Tyson Food, Inc.
According to the information released on Thursday, distribution will be at The Salvation Army Thrift Store parking lot at 5824 Council St. NE from 9 am to 5 pm Saturday, August 22 or until supplies are gone.
“Many people lost all of the food in their freezers and for some, it will be very difficult to replace” says Shalla Ashworth, Director of Development & Communications. “Working with Tyson Chicken, The Salvation Army will be distributing frozen boneless chicken breast fillets, helping families get a head start on replenishing their freezers and feeding their families.”
The Salvation Army is accepting monetary donations, which can be made online or by calling their offices. Donations can also be sent to The Salvation Army, PO Box 8056, Cedar Rapids, IA 52408.
