EF-1 tornado rips off roof in Winthrop

According to National Weather Service, an EF-1 tornado touched down for one minute in Winthrop, Iowa Saturday evening.

Meteorologists said the tornado happened at 9:36 p.m. and carved a path about 20 yards wide for about 500 feet.

The NWS said a house was damaged but no one was hurt during winds that peaked at about 95 miles per hour.
