Eastern Iowa Sam's Clubs unaffected by sudden closures

MGN Online

On Thursday, hundreds of Sam's Clubs stores without warning, but stores in eastern Iowa are still open.

Walmart, which owns Sam's Club, is closing stores and laying off thousands of workers.

CBS2/FOX28 called stores in Cedar Rapids, Dubuque and Waterloo who confirmed they are still open.

The sudden closures come on the same day that Walmart announced it was raising its minimum wage to $11 per hour, and handing out one-time cash bonuses as a result of tax reform that was passed.
