Designs needed for new Waterloo Police Department logo

WATERLOO, Iowa (Iowa's News Now) — The city of Waterloo is inviting the public to submit designs for a new Waterloo Police Department (WPD) insignia. The values of respect, service, and vigilance are to be represented.

The Department Rebranding Committee made of up police officials and community members will score each design based on the follow criteria:

• Visibility of design
• Designs should embody any individual or combination of the following words: respect, service, vigilance
• Uniqueness of the design
• Conformity to the shape of the current WPD insignia

The top designs will be compiled and evaluated at the January 13th meeting of the Waterloo Police Department Rebranding Committee. A winner will be chosen then.

Artists and designers who have previously submitted designs are asked to resubmit their work to insure it is considered.
