CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Cedar Rapids Police are now searching for a man suspected of murder in a shooting death from last weekend.
Nestor Dominguez, 44, has warrants out for first degree murder and going armed with intent in the August 28th shooting death of Jose Florentino Ramirez Landin.
Police found Ramirez Landin dead in the 4000 block of 21st Avenue SW. Witnesses told police they had been cooking out with the victim when Dominguez arrived in a vehicle.
After a short visit, the victim walked away from the group between two garages and the defendant followed. That's when witnesses told police they heard several gunshots.
The defendant then returned stating "it's done, let's go" as he placed a handgun into his waistband, according to CRPD.
Police say Dominguez had previously complained to them that someone he knew had punctured a tired on his vehicle.
Dominguez is around 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs about 180, has black hair and brown eyes.
CRPD says if you see him, call law enforcement. He is considered armed and dangerous.
