CRPD investigating three armed robberies

Cedar Rapids police are investigating three armed robberies that happened between Sunday, November 12 and Wednesday, November 15. Police say the suspect involved in the robberies may have also committed a robbery in Hiawatha this week as well.

These are when and where the three robberies happened:

  • Discount Liquor (2933 1st Ave. SE) - Sunday, November 12 at 5:44 p.m.
  • Dairy Queeen (2100 6th St. SW) - Monday, November 13 at 7:28 p.m.
  • Smokin' Joes (2315 Mt. Vernon Rd. SE) - Wednesday, November 15 at 10:25 p.m.

Police say the suspect is described as a black male between 6' and 6'2". They say he is between 200-240 pounds and wearing a hooded sweatshirt, white mask and armed with a silver handgun. Authorities say the suspect was last seen leaving the robbery locations on foot.
