Two firefighters hurt in NE Cedar Rapids house fire


    UPDATE: According to Cedar Rapids police, two firefighters were hurt and a family of four was displaced after a house caught on fire on the Northeast side of the city.

    Crews said the fire started around 3:07 p.m. on the sun porch of a home on Hollywood Blvd. NE and extended into the kitchen area.

    Investigators said one firefighter was electrocuted and another had shortness of breath. Both were taken to the hospital and are expected to be okay.

    No one was home at the time. But the family's cat was found dead inside the home.

    The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

    Witness said no one inside, but a cat may have died.
