Chicago homicide suspect arrested on I-380
CORALVILLE, Iowa (CBS2/FOX28) —
A suspect wanted for a homicide in Chicago was arrested in Johnson County on the interstate on Friday.
31-year-old Justin Smith was wanted for a homicide that happened in November 2016.
U.S. Marshals received a tip that Smith was staying at a home in the 2000 block of Glass Road NE in Cedar Rapids and watched him leave the residence while staking him out.
Smith was eventually stopped on I-380 SB about a mile north of I-80 without incident. One other person in the car was taken custody on unrelated charges.
Smith is being held in the Linn County Jail awaiting extradition to Cook County, Illinois.
