CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Iowa's News Now) — Cedar Rapids bike share program is expected to resume soon. On May 29th the city said bikes and scooters would begin arriving in the next two weeks (which would be right about now). For the health and safety of riders VeoRide, the program's vendor, will disinfect the bikes and stations twice daily on average. Riders are also encouraged to practice good hygiene.
The program will consist of 150 electric-assist bikes and 70 electric scooters. There will be 90 designated bike racks through the downtown and area districts including MedQuarter, NewBo, Czech Village, Kingston Village). Last year the program recorded more than 17,000 bike rides and more than 12,000 scooter rides between May and November. More than 5,000 users used a bike or scooter last year.
