Authorities investigate fatal house fire in Mason City

MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) — Authorities are continuing to investigate a weekend house fire that killed a child in Mason City.

The Globe Gazette reports the fire was reported by a neighbor around 11 p.m. Saturday.

Authorities have said a child died in the fire, but they haven't released the child's name or age.

Mason City Assistant Fire Marshal Tom Wollner says investigators were working Monday to determine what caused the fire.
