A dose of fall weather on the way

    It will be a warm, muggy, and calm weekend in eastern Iowa. High pressure will settle in and keep the rain away.

    The rain will return... and that's good news for drought stricken areas in the Midwest. A strong storm will move in Monday and bring widespread showers and thunderstorms. There is some uncertainty in the exact track of the system but heavy rain will be likely. There is more certainty in cooler air moving in behind the storm.

    Temperatures will be in the 70s in the afternoons and 50s at night. The humidity will drop off Tuesday through Thursday and it will be feeling like fall.
