CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (CBS2/FOX28) — A popular Iowa River Landing restaurant is expanding into Cedar Rapids.

30Hop will take over the former Axel's Sports Grill location, which closed its doors in January.

The Iowa City/Coralville-based 30Hop group says the new Cedar Rapids location will generally mirror the atmosphere of the existing 30Hop in Coralville, but says they will expand the usage of the rooftop patio with more TVs and fire pits.

The current 30Hop owners, Dan Blum, Erik Shewmaker, Matt Swift and Brian Flynn own and operate several restaurants and bars in Iowa City and surrounding communities.
