17-year-old injured in Cedar Rapids shooting

A 17-year-old is recovering after being hit by gunfire early Sunday morning.

Cedar Rapids Police say they were called to the intersection of 15th St and 7th Avenue SE for a report of shots fired around 12:15 a.m. Upon arrival, they found a 17-year-old boy with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the left thigh. Several shell casings were also found at the scene.

The teen was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

No arrests have been made as police continue to investigate the incident.
