CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Cedar Rapids police say they've arrested a 15-year-old male after a carjacking at Walmart in Cedar Rapids Friday night.
Police say they were called to the Walmart located at 2645 Blairsferry Rd. NE at about 9:44 p.m. Friday evening for a report of a carjacking. A female victim told authorities that her vehicle had been stolen by a male with a handgun. Police say she wasn't hurt during the robbery.
The stolen vehicle was then reported as a reckless driver on I-80 near Davenport, police say. After a short pursuit the vehicle crashed, and a 15-year-old male was taken into custody.
He's charged with 1st degree Theft and other traffic violations.
Police also say deputies found a replica handgun when the juvenile was taken into custody.
