Cedar Rapids' C Avenue closed, open house Wednesday
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (CBj) — Construction is slated to begin Monday on C Avenue NE in Cedar Rapids as one of roughly 30 street improvement projects planned for this year.
The project stretches from 40th Street to Collins Road, and includes street replacement, storm sewer improvements, water main replacement, on-street bike lanes and the installation of sidewalks from 40th Street to Nilsen Road. The project is scheduled for completion this fall.
C Avenue will be closed starting Monday to help accelerate the construction timeline, according to city of Cedar Rapids staff.
The public can learn more the project and other infrastructure improvements at open house sessions from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., and 5:30-7:00 p.m. on March 29 at the Cedar Rapids Public Library.
