Three Democratic lawmakers consider bids against Rep. Zach Nunn for Iowa's 3rd District

DES MOINES, Iowa —
Three Democratic state lawmakers are weighing a potential challenge against Republican U.S. Rep. Zach Nunn for Iowa's 3rd Congressional District seat in 2026, according to the Des Moines Register.

State Sen. Sarah Trone Garriott, D-West Des Moines, House Minority Leader Jennifer Konfrst, D-Windsor Heights, and state Rep. Austin Baeth, D-Des Moines, confirmed Wednesday that they are all contemplating a run for the seat. Gray Media Iowa was the first to report the news.
Nunn, a Republican from Bondurant serving his second term, won reelection in November, defeating Democrat Lanon Baccam by four percentage points.
