Gov. Rick Perry Stumps for Iowans

DES MOINES, IA (CBS2/FOX28) - With just three months to go until the November elections, candidates across Iowa are pulling out all the stops and that means brining in some heavy hitters to help with their campaigns.
Texas governor Rick Perry was the special guest for several fundraisers over the weekend.
On Sunday afternoon he stopped by Eldridge for an ice cream social to support Mariannette Miller-Meeks' congressional campaign.
Miller-Meeks is facing off against incumbent Dave Loebsack to represent the second district.
After that stop, Perry went down to Iowa City where he stumped for congressional candidate Mike Moore.
During that stop he talked to a group about border security and said elections are key to changing laws and being heard.
