Mother of Hostage Makes 11th Hour Plea

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (CBS2/FOX28) - The mother of an American journalist being held by ISIS is making an 11th hour plea for help.
Last week, ISIS threatened to kill Steven Sotloff if the U.S. didn't stop airstrikes in Syria.
This week, Shirley Sotloff released a video appealing to captors to show her son mercy.
The American journalist has been held by the group since last august.
His family says U.S. and other diplomatic channels have failed to secure his freedom so they're taking the matter into their own hands.
As of last count, U.S. military officials say they have conducted more than 100 airstrikes in Syria.
The White House says it is still considering more military action.
