JERUSALEM, ISRAEL (CBS2/FOX 28) - Celebrations are underway in the Middle East after a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas appears to be holding strong.
The open-ended deal was mediated by Egypt and came after seven weeks of fighting that claimed more than 2,000 lives.
Israel agreed to open crossings on its border so that humanitarian supplies could get into Gaza.
Palestinians will now be allowed to fish within six miles of the coast.
Israeli and Palestinian leaders plan to meet next month in Cairo to talk about finding solutions to some of the more complex issues the two sides face.
